Parks

Redwing Park, also known as the Virginia Beach best kept little secret, is very nice. With a fenced in dog park, you will want to take the dog and whole family for a pleasant time at Redwing Park.

Mt. Trashmore Park has a huge 67-foot tall mountain you will love climbing. If you do not enjoy climbing, they also have stairs to get to the top of the mountain. Do not forget your kite as Mt. Trashmore’s mountaintop is an excellent place for kite flying.

Are you looking for some fun in the sun? Ocean Breeze Water Park is the only water park located in Virginia Beach. Ocean Breeze Water Park has plenty of fun for the whole family. They have a kiddie pool for the little ones that are full of slides and fun. There are larger slides for the bigger kids as well as the adults. With sixteen different water slides available, there is no way you cannot have a good time. Be sure and check out the wave pool while you are there. The wave pool has ocean wave simulations come through every so often. Do not forget to take your sunscreen and make a day of it, you will be glad you did.

Museums

If your beach activities get rained out, museums are just as plentiful in Virginia Beach as the beach itself. There is a museum for everyone. The most popular museum in Virginia Beach is The Virginia Marine Science Museum. When you visit this museum, you will see many aquariums full of sea life, including sting rays, sharks, and sea turtles. You can plan a boat ride to explore and see the ocean. On the boat ride, you are sure to see dolphins and perhaps even a whale or two. The Virginia Marine Science Museum also has many hands on activities located though out, as well as an IMAX movie theater. Take the family and see a movie. Be sure to wear your comfortable walking shoes and have a good time.

The Old Coast Guard Station Museum is where the first Coast Guard station was located in Virginia Beach. The Old Coast Guard Station Museum is a grand piece of Virginia Beach history. It features two floors of exhibits and has many of the tools and methods used by the Coast Guard long ago. The Old Coast Guard Station Museum definitely gives you an educational experience as well as a great activity while you are vacationing in Virginia Beach.

Golf Courses

If you are a golfer, you will want to check out the golf courses in Virginia Beach. Many of them, designed by pros themselves, feature sparkling bodies of water and gorgeous green grass, the likes of which you have never seen before. There are several golf courses to choose from in Virginia Beach, and what a hard decision that will be. You just might find yourself teeing off at more than one course, especially if you cannot get enough of golf. Golf is a very popular activity in Virginia Beach.
